“I’ve been practicing yoga for 15 years, and it is sometimes difficult to find a safe and well-rounded yoga instructor. After attending my first class of Allie’s a couple of years ago, I was hooked. She is able to bring presence to a practice, while making it challenging and grounding, which is actually an art in itself. Allie’s passion for yoga can be felt, and her deep knowledge of yoga as a science and philosophy is proved over and over in the sessions with her. She is brilliant at what she does. I love attending her class, as I come away feeling whole, satisfied, challenged, enlightened and graciously present.”

WHAT IS KIRTAN OR CALL AND RESPONSE CHANTING?
Kirtan is a participatory, call and response form of singing that is becoming increasingly popular throughout the world as westerners discover its uplifting and healing effects. Kirtan is not in any way religious but many do describe it as spiritual. At a Kirtan event, the lines between musician and audience are blurred: the audience members play a vital role in the music through their singing in response to the “call“ of the artist. It is now so popular that several artists, have been nominated and won Grammies.
